The best restaurant in Nimes – L’Esclafidou

A hidden gem on the Rue Xavier Sigalon is definitely worthy of a finding, Elmarie’s L’Esclafidou is one of the best restaurants we have ever had the pleasure of eating in.

We don’t go to fancy (but reasonable) restaurants very often, but when we do – we do love to spoil ourselves with a rich choice of food and delicious wine. But remember, it’s not always about the food but also about the whole atmosphere and about the relationships between staff and customers.

Roman history, French dinner, Italian Aperol Spritz – weekend in Nimes

The summer has gone.

Living in the UK and admitting the fact that we actually HAD A SUMMER this year is still a surprise to me too. Over 25 degrees, ciders in the garden and barbeques slowly stopped with the first fallen leaves from trees.

No one of was ready for the fall. So a weekend trip to South France sounded like a great idea. Forecast about 26 degrees, French champagne, and food, plus the return tickets from London for £30 wasn’t something we could ignore. So we packed and escaped for the weekend to this beautiful Roman city of Nimes in South France.

Sunshine with plenty of sangria and tapas in January? Welcome to Lisbon!

Trying to keep up with a busy work schedule whilst making time for family, friends, dance class, gym and blog writing can be so tiring! Don’t get me wrong – I absolutely love my life – but now I have taken on a new challenge, a CIM Diploma in Digital Marketing, yay! I must be crazy, I guess.

I am that kind of person (if you haven’t noticed yet) that cannot sit still. I get bored so easily that I must keep myself constantly entertained otherwise I’ll start to moan (mostly at my partner – sorry babe).

“Time flies when you’re having fun” – but I would also say that “time flies while doing what you love”!

SPA Aphrodite in Rajecke Teplice – luxury, wine and wellness

Sometimes I wonder where the time has gone.

Not even two weeks have passed since I came back from my holidays back home in Slovakia with Carl where we were spending some quality time with my loved ones. It was the first time in four years since moving to England that I finally had time off over Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Because it was also our 3-years-anniversary we decided to escape from it all and spend some much needed alone time together.

I fell in love with Arizona – Road Trip to Grand Canyon, part 2.

The Grand Canyon is more beautiful, breath-taking and phenomenal than I ever dreamed!

You know that moment when you feel “little” in your life? Well, stand on the edge of the Great Grand Canyon and then tell me how little you feel.

The Grand Canyon and Arizona weren’t always on my bucket list, but because we wanted to see as much as possible in our two-week trip to America, I squeezed them in. And oh boy, I can’t tell you how glad I am that I did because this road trip was by far the best part of it! If you missed the first part of our road trip to the Grand Canyon, you can catch up via this link and then come back!

I fell in love with Arizona – Road Trip to Grand Canyon, part 1.

I fell in love with Arizona.

Not only did that state take my breath away, but it also kept it.

Have you heard of that saying “whenever you go – always go with your heart?” And so, you should. I did and boy it was worth it.

From all of our road-flight-trip through California, Nevada and Arizona –I can say without a shadow of a doubt that driving from Las Vegas to Hoover Dam, having lunch along the Historic Route 66 and seeing the sunset from the edge of the Grand Canyon – was absolutely the best.
